Yosegi Playing Cards

Inspired by Yosegi-zaiku, the intricate art of Japanese marquetry, Yosegi Playing Cards transform the geometric beauty of hand-laid wood mosaics into a deck designed for both play and display. For generations, artisans in the mountains of Hakone have assembled naturally colored woods into mesmerizing patterns—without paint or stain—revealing extraordinary complexity through patience and precision.

This deck pays homage to that tradition with a richly detailed back design, custom faces, and a warm, understated palette that echoes the character of finely crafted wood. Every element reflects the quiet elegance and meticulous attention to detail that have made Yosegi a lasting symbol of Japanese craftsmanship.

Whether used for card games, sleight of hand, or simply admired as an object of design, Yosegi Playing Cards are a tribute to the enduring beauty of making things well.
