The open plains of Joshua Tree, CA are dotted with enormous boulders, cacti, and the strange trees that give the region its name. Joshua Tree has always attracted artists, visionaries, and those who are drawn to the harsh landscape and all of its peculiarities. Our Norden Joshua Tree fragrance is a complex blend of dry, woody hinoki, resinous juniper, eucalyptus, and herbal desert plant life.

Big Sur is one of the most enchanting places. This fragrance is the result of a trip taken to Deetjen's in the Spring. While there, an intense rain storm passed through, downing trees and temporarily closing down the road. In the morning, a hike up to the bench at the top of the hill above. As it was pouring rain, the smell of pine, cedarwood, earth, and moss was enhanced by the wood smoke rising out of the cabin chimneys below. That experience is captured and expressed this scent.

La Sierra. The tall pine trees, rugged landscape, and mountain views remain one of our favorite places to visit. The scent is a culmination of walking through the forest, with a persistent smell of patchouli. Imagine finding the earthy aroma of mossy wood along the trail. Walk a bit further, and you'll encounter some spice and a fire from a nearby cabin.
Fragrance Notes: Cedarwood, Frankincense, and Patchouli

The Ojai valley rests quietly in California's Ventura county. It plays host to many seasonal visitors attracted to its mellow vibe and many recreational and spiritual retreats. Our first visit to Ojai came in late winter, and the scent of decaying grass, forest, earthy balsams and resins, and the smoke from burning palo santo wood enchanted us. Based off of our olfactory memories of Ojai, this fragrance is a mix of balsamic frankincense, earthy patchouli, and the resinous citrus woody scent of burning palo santo wood.
Smells like --Dry wood paneling, grass, resinous citrus, woody incense.

Aptos is a seaside community just outside of Santa Cruz, CA. Perched atop Monterey Bay, Aptos is home to the Forest of Nisene Marks with its giant redwoods and Douglas fir trees, and a stretch of coastline where forest cliffs drop off dramatically to the sea. Our Aptos fragrance blends forest, seaside flora, and warm spices together to evoke memories of this maritime enclave that is so dear to our hearts.

Idyllwild. Standing tall above the desert valley below is the mighty San Jacinto range. A sandy, harsh landscape of rocks, Joshua trees and sagebrush leads up to the base of the mountains. At the top, grassy fields give way to pine and cedar forests. This area holds a really special place in our hearts, and we're glad to share this fragrance with everyone. Dry, woody notes of Texas cedarwood mix with herbal sage, earthy vetiver, and a bright citrus finish.
Smells like--Dry, earthy, herbal desert sagebrush and cedar forest

Øresund is the strait between Denmark and Sweden. Inspired by a trip to Copenhagen, the cold north, and the long, dark Scandinavian Winter season, this fragrance evokes memories of huddling up inside of a cabin to stay warm. The scent is reminiscent of crackling wood, pine needles, and the sweet smell of the forest. Base notes of cedar and balsam fir are accented by light, fresh grapefruit, and the deep, earthy musk of ambrette seed to round everything out.
Smells like--Crackling wood fire, pine needles, bright piny citrus
